In 2022, Metso approached us with the need for tailored eLearning solutions to transform their internal legal training into a more engaging and effective experience. They envisioned an interactive online learning platform for employees, designed to make complex legal concepts accessible and interesting, especially for non-lawyers. Their challenge was addressing the dense and user-unfriendly nature of their existing legal training materials, which had become increasingly complicated due to company mergers.
THE BRIEF
Our objective was to distill the training material to its essence, preserving its critical content while making it more memorable and engaging. The aim was to simplify the learning process, ensuring it was easily comprehensible for all employees.
THE GOAL
We began with in-depth client research to thoroughly understand Metso's needs. The project involved brainstorming for a new eLearning course on 'Legal Must-Haves for Sales Contracts.' It included three rounds of iteration, featuring the development of new graphics in collaboration with Kokoro & Moi. The process encompassed the creation and refinement of two prototypes, guided by user testing and feedback. Approximately two months from the project's initiation, we finalized and delivered the interactive, ready-to-use online course to Metso.
THE PROCESS
Metso's response to our delivery was exceptionally positive. As Samuli Kajosaari, Vice President, Legal at Metso, remarked, 'Dot. delivered beyond our expectations. A key takeaway was the realization that we could present our material more simply without compromising its depth. The visuals they provided were excellent too. Internally, this project served as our starting point, sparking further ideas how to improve our work.'
The successful outcome of the first project earned us Metso's trust for a subsequent challenge: creating a new eLearning solution for Procurement Contracting. This project, mirroring the success of the first, was equally well-received. It showcased the effectiveness of our approach, combining interactive, visually engaging, and audio-enhanced eLearning methods.
