In our comprehensive legal design project with EAI, focused on revamping their Employee Share Saving Plan (ESSP) documentation, we identified a critical challenge: their drafting process in Microsoft Word was inconsistent and time-consuming. The EAI legal team needed a more efficient, less stressful solution. They tasked us with optimizing their Word environment and creating streamlined, technically refined templates.
THE BRIEF
Having previously collaborated with EAI, we swiftly commenced with a user research phase, analyzing how their lawyers utilized Word and identifying key bottlenecks. Our initial step was to develop a prototype of the enhanced Word environment and ESSP document template. This prototype underwent rigorous testing by EAI’s lawyers, whose feedback was instrumental in refining our approach and shaping the final product.
THE PROCESS
The culmination of our efforts was a bespoke Microsoft Word package tailored for EAI. This package featured a user-friendly interface, an efficient drafting system, and standardized templates to promote consistency across the team. This solution was immediately effective, with EAI reporting significant time savings and a smoother document drafting process, marking a successful transformation of their legal work environment.
